Point of sale for food businesses

The counter keeps serving, whatever happens outside.

OakBox POS runs in your shop. Orders and billing carry on if the internet drops, and your records are sent onward when a connection is there, so you can see every location from one place.

Made for
Cafés, restaurants, bakeries, sweet shops and quick service
A small food shop: a counter with a till, a price board in rupees, chai glasses and biscuit jars, a window with a marble table and two chairs, and a rolling shutter with marigolds at the doorBy day the shutter is up, the tube light is on, the owner is at the counter and a bill prints at the till. At night the shop is dark, the shutter is down, the chairs are up on the table and the till sleeps. Scrolling through the day below plays it from before light to closing: the shutter rolls up, the first chai is served, a queue forms, and the lights go out one by one as the day’s records leave through the window as a dotted thread.₹10₹15₹20₹25₹40₹30₹60₹45₹80₹35

A day at the counter

  1. Shutter up

The owner raises the shutter and the tube light blinks on. Everything the counter needs for the day is already inside.

  2. First chai

Low light through the window. The first glass is poured, and the first bill is made at the counter.

  3. The rush

A queue along the counter. Glasses go out, tickets go on the spike, and the counter keeps pace without hurrying.

  4. Close

Chairs up, lights off one by one. The day’s records leave the shop on its own time, and the till goes to sleep.

Tomorrow, the shutter goes up again.

What it does

The counter’s work, and the owner’s view

The everyday tools a food business needs at the counter, and the whole-business view an owner needs wherever they are.

At the counter

  • Billing

Bill each order at the counter, cash or digital. The bill is made in the shop, so a dropped connection doesn’t stop it. Digital payments still need a network.

  • Dine-in and takeaway orders

Take orders for tables and takeaway, and keep track of each one until it’s billed.

  • Menu and prices

Keep items, categories and prices up to date at the counter, whenever your menu changes.

  • Stock

Keep stock alongside your sales, as part of the everyday routine rather than a separate job.

Wherever you are

  • Sales reports

See the day’s sales and which items are selling, for one shop or all of them together.

  • Every location in one place

Each shop’s records are sent onward when a connection is there, so a business with a few outlets is seen from one place.
